Simulations of the extended version of model (2.1) allowing for the assessment of the impact of community lockdown strategy on COVID-19 (a) daily mortality and (b) cumulative mortality in the US. Additional simulations the extended version of model (2.1) allowing for the assessment of the combined impact of community lockdown and face mask use strategies on COVID-19 (a) daily mortality and (b) cumulative mortality in the US. Improvement in the effectiveness of the community lockdown and mask use strategies are measured in terms of a percentage reductions in the community contact rate parameters, βa, βs, and βh, of the model. Parameter values used for the simulations are given in the parameter estimation section.
